Bethany Albrecht (She/Her)

Bethany Albrecht, LPC, licensed professional counselor in Denver, offering neurofeedback and adult counseling.

Hello!

Education & Experience

For over 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting adults in Denver and the surrounding areas through counseling, guiding them as they navigate life’s challenges and build resilience. A few years ago, I began offering neurofeedback training for adults, which has become a meaningful complement to my counseling practice. I feel that counseling and neurofeedback are my calling, and I am truly honored to work with clients as they heal, grow, and transform their lives, including those seeking support for trauma recovery, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and sleep challenges.

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary and completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology at Wayland Baptist University. My clinical experience began at Denver Counseling Center as a practicum counselor and continued at EDCare (formerly the Eating Disorder Center of Denver), where I served as an intern therapist and Binge Eating Disorder Program Facilitator. I have also had the privilege of providing psychotherapy in nonprofit counseling settings, including The Providence Network, Open Door Ministries, and Wings.

I was trained in EMDR in 2017 and have continued to expand and refine my practice through advanced trainings in Internal Family Systems (IFS) integration, Polyvagal Theory, and EMDR for eating disorders. I am EMDR Certified and currently an EMDR Consultant in Training, and I have had the honor of facilitating EMDR trainings at The Road Less Travelled Counseling Center and Scaling Up.

Over the years, my education, training, and clinical experience have allowed me to combine evidence-based therapy with neurofeedback in a holistic, client-centered approach, helping adults in Denver and nearby communities overcome challenges, build resilience, and create lasting, meaningful change.

My Approach

I believe that the journey through life’s challenges is not one meant to be traveled alone. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Denver area, I partner with adults as they pursue physical, psychological, social, and spiritual health and wholeness. My style is warm, engaging, and trauma-informed, grounded in openness, curiosity, and humor—which I use often. My holistic and collaborative approach is designed to support and guide you as you navigate the difficulties you are facing, empowering you to find greater freedom and move toward a more fulfilling, integrated life.

Within the therapeutic relationship, I strive to create a safe and sacred space where you can explore and better understand your experience in the world, while learning new ways of engaging with yourself and with life. I utilize empirically validated therapy modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), along with techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These approaches support clients in restructuring unhelpful thought and behavior patterns, deepening self-exploration, building coping and self-care skills, and strengthening a more compassionate and resilient sense of self.

Neurofeedback Training

A significant part of my work is informed by a deep appreciation for the role the nervous system and brain play in emotional regulation, focus, mood, and overall wellbeing. Through neurofeedback training, I support clients in a more direct, brain-based way—helping the nervous system learn new patterns of regulation and flexibility. I am especially passionate about neurofeedback as a complementary approach for adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, or sleep difficulties, as it allows clients to work with their brains rather than feeling at odds with them. When integrated thoughtfully with counseling, neurofeedback can support meaningful, sustainable change.

Integrating Spirituality

I also have specialized training in integrating Christian spirituality and counseling. When appropriate and invited, I incorporate your spiritual background and personal perspective into the therapeutic process as an additional lens for understanding your experiences and creating meaning.

I consider it a privilege to have worked with individuals from a wide range of cultural, socioeconomic, and spiritual backgrounds, and I am deeply committed to honoring the unique personal experiences each individual brings into the therapeutic space.
